Could you make a film that changes the way we see the future? In an epoch of doom and gloom it takes both imagination and courage to visualise alternative futures. Open to all filmmakers – first time and professional – films for the future is just one challenge within the Northern Lights Project that will launch on 20 March 2012.
Part of the Year of Creative Scotland, Northern Lights is a nation-wide documentary film project that provides members of the general public with an opportunity to film their Scotland and share their lives. With £10,000 in awards and filmmaking support available, why not come along for a special insight into this unique project?
In an exciting change from the published programme Northern Lights director, Nick Higgins will be joined by BAFTA award winning documentary filmmaker Mark Isaacs (Men of the City, All White in Barking, Lift) and the prominent Method acting practitioner, Sam Rumbelow, collaborator with Turner Prize winner Gillian Wearing on the critically acclaimed art documentary, Self-Made.
If you want to get involved in Northern Lights, you should attend this special session and hear Nick, Marc and Sam discuss and illustrate what it takes to make authentic, intimate and powerful films.
This event is free but ticketed.
