<p><em>“Deadly weapons are among the most fascinating and well-designed artefacts of our time, but their beauty can be cherished only by those for whom aesthetic pleasure is divorced from the value of life. A mode of perception the arts are not meant to encourage.”</em> &#8211; Arthur Drexler former Director of the Department of Architecture and Design at MoMA.</p>
<p>Paola Antonelli, Senior Curator, Department of Architecture and Design at MoMA and James Hunt, Director, graduate program in Transdisciplinary Design, at Parsons The New School for Design are inviting experts from fields as diverse as science, philosophy, literature, music, film, journalism, and politics to respond to selected design objects and spark a conversation with all readers to explore the manifestations of violence in contemporary society.</p>
