Heuberger collective is made up from a handful of artists, printmakers and illustrators who work together to produce fine quality screenprinted publications.
The publication is not scheduled for a regular release – just when the artwork finds a way of coming together – and is always printed in a limited edition, around 50 copies each time. Each issue resolves around a certain predetermined theme before the artwork is produced, and ends up in a different format each time.
Their third, and latest, issue took the form of a double issue to exhibit its theme War and Peace. It was printed in an edition of 60 copies. The first two issues are both now out of print.
As well as producing books, Heuberger also produce prints and t-shirts. Their tie-dye logo shirt has become a summer staple for the collective’s members and followers.
The collective prove to be as mysterious as their namesake ‘Julius Heuberger’, the Dadaist’s secreted printmaker – much of Heuberger’s work is credited to unknown artists, such as ‘The Dish’ ‘Dr John’ ‘The Gentleman’ and ‘DOG’. The collective claim to have formed after a meeting with the spirit of the late Julius Heuberger “in which he laid his name upon us”.
The collective are busy producing their fourth issue which promises to be ‘bigger, better and brighter than anything’ they’ve produced before and will be showcasing some very exciting artwork from invited contributors.
