After submitting 5 of my shadow screen designs 3 were short listed. All the designs shared same ideology of perceiving a pattern, which I find to be rather interesting.  Human eyes are used to see repetitive objects; to this idea an approach to seek design elements in nature is fully correct. The question is whether we want to see clear objects with minimal simplicity in particular order, or do we prefer rough edges with apparent repetition? And is a repetition necessary at all? Or perhaps we need to see the environment to answer this question.

As I considered the functionality of a shadow screen, first thing that came to my mind was the importance of background cosiness it creates.  How would it contribute to the harmony of a different space. However, I found it quite challening to generate a design that would provide every single space with something fresh and fulfilling.
