Alexandre O. Philippe’s film The People vs George Lucas is making its international debut here at the Edinburgh International Film Festival (you can see it tonight / Saturday, at 7:45pm and 3:30pm respectively). It’s an often hilarious, warts-and-all portrait of fandom and Star Wars fans in particular, but it also asks some important questions about cultural ownership of art and media.

I caught up with the director this afternoon in order to talk about his work and discuss these issues.
