Judith Beheading Holofernes, Caravaggio Merisi (1571-1610) vanGo’d by RYLA90 District 2430

Bringing another dimension to the ‘selfie,’ VanGoYourself allows visitors to recreate famous artworks. You choose a painting from the available selection on the site, then recreate the scene in a contemporary setting for all to see. The site is free to use and is designed to help people rediscover and engage with classic paintings in a new way.

With over sixty paintings from Masters such as Van Gogh and Rembrandt, there’s plenty to be discovered.

The website is the brainchild of Culture24, UK and Plurio.net, Luxembourg who aim to challenge the views of those who feel museums can be dull. The project has just been nominated for the Museums + Heritage Awards for Innovation.

Recreate your own artwork now.
